We have assignments in our ongoing quest to (greenly) remodel the house. We met today with Kurt and Tom (architects) and Cheri (builder) to go over the plans and hammer out a few things. Cheri is going to break it down a bit into phasing and give us some numbers. Then we have to go a-beggin'. Of course, we now have a remodeling due date of September 7 because that's my due date for the baby I am a-brewin'. We decided to go ahead with remodeling now because it will be easier to move one pregnant woman (no, really) than it will be to move me and a baby for the times when it's unsafe to be in the house.
Our list:
Look into materials choices: decking (upper), railings, details (exterior and interior), siding, roofing, windows
Get dimensions of desired washer and dryer
Forward energy audit reports to Cheri and Kurt
Find examples of things we like
I am sure I am forgetting some things.
Things should move along very quickly now.
It's rather terrifying and exciting.
What are the three most stressful things a human can do (a privileged human, that is)? Move, change jobs, have baby?
Check, check, check. (I think extensive remodeling such as this involving 5 months of construction counts as akin to moving)
